Data Protection & Security at nectar LMS

Fischer, Knoblauch & Co.’s nectar LMS complies with EU data protection requirements and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The option to enable two-factor authentication provides additional protection against unauthorized access. The processing of personal data is carried out solely for specified purposes, and users have the right to access, modify, or delete their data. Furthermore, the system implements various security measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the data.

A key aspect of nectar LMS is its multi-tenancy capability (German: “mandantenfähig”). This means that each client is treated as a separate learning platform with its own users, groups, learning elements, and settings. For example, a company with multiple departments or subsidiaries can create a separate client for each one, allowing each to customize their learning experiences, branding, and user management according to their specific needs.

This separation ensures a clear separation of data and settings between clients, contributing to security and data protection. Various settings for security and data protection can be configured for each client (e. g. enabling two-factor authentication).

Superadministrators have access to all clients, while administrators only have access to the clients assigned to them. This ensures that sensitive data can only be accessed by authorized users.

Creating a new client in nectar LMS is straightforward for superadministrators. Here are the steps they need to follow:

  1. Navigation: Go to Administration > Super Administrator Settings and select the "Clients" section.
  2. Create New Client: Click on the "New Client" button.
  3. Adjust Settings: The default settings and colors are inherited from the client used to create the new client. However, the settings under "Groups" must be adjusted in the new client.
  1. Slug and Name: Enter a unique identifier (slug) for the client and the name that will appear in the client list.
  2. Client created successfully!

In short: These differences ensure that the management and control of the entire system remain in the hands of superadministrators, while administrators can focus on the specific needs of their own client.
